HPA has partnered with UV Angel for an Australian rollout of UV-C spectrum lighting, which eliminates airborne pathogens from potentially contaminated air.

Bringing the technology to Australia and New Zealand, Hospital Products Australia (HPA) is a healthcare procurement and technology leader.

Ultraviolet light is widely deployed in a variety of formats as an effective sterilizing solution in healthcare and workspaces. In its most common form, technology utilizes UV-C light, which has a comparatively short wavelength ideal for penetrating microbial protective barriers. Disrupting their DNA/RNA structures effectively neutralizes affected pathogens.

UV Angel Clean Air is designed for this application, especially in healthcare and aged care facilities, where clean air is vital to achieving optimal wellness outcomes. HPA’s rollout also supports use in offices, workspaces, and public spaces.

How it works:

– Room air is quietly and continuously drawn into a sealed UV-C treatment chamber

– High-intensity UV-C light is used to neutralize airborne pathogens

– Treated air is returned to the room, creating a safer environment, and

– IoT connectivity allows control and integration into the facility’s tech stack.

UV Angel Clean Air is unobtrusive, works continuously, and can be integrated directly into any ceiling.

“UV Angel is proud to be partnering with HPA as the distributor of our products in Australia,” says UV Angel CEO Tom Byrne. “It is critical to understand that people are the major source of contamination and disease transmission. The recent pandemic continues to highlight the need to add engineered source-level controls at the point where contamination is occurring. Our technology has been specifically designed as an engineered source-level control system, operating independent of the other infection control measures, right at the room-level within occupied spaces. We are excited to expand our offering locally with HPA and support the wellbeing of a number of key sectors including healthcare, hospitality, and commercial businesses.”
